Ward joined Restoration Systems in 2013 as Environmental Specialist/Project Manager. Ward is responsible for identifying any potential sites for the NC Ecosystem Enhancement Program RFP submittals and sites eligible for private bank acquisition. He chases dirt all over the state of North Carolina.
Ward received a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology from the University of Maryland at College Park. He then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Marine Services from North Carolina State University. He has spent time in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, Bahamas, Washington State Coast and the coast of North Carolina studying the recruitment dynamics of fish, shrimp and lobster species. Ward previously worked for Buck Engineering and Michael Baker Engineering. He enjoys the environmental mitigation field because he gets satisfaction in knowing that his efforts lead to direct improvements in water quality, increase and improve habitat for animal species and provide overall increase in the natural functions of the environment. Plus, he enjoys watching the trees that have been planted grow!
Ward spends his off time outdoors camping, horseback riding and fishing with his family, wife Mary Martha and sons Jackson and Zachary. You will also find him on the ball field coaching his son’s sports teams at the Salvation Army and Wake Count City Leagues and always cheering on his NC State Wolfpack!
